Crockett's Fall

Printmaking. Animation. Film.  Wrote, illustrated and published 'Crockett's Fall'; A short story illustrated by monoprinting and collaging.  anna@hughes.co.uk. All work is my own unless otherwise stated.
This is the photo included in the Woon Foundation exhibition booklet. Looking particularly exhausted…
The winner is announced next Tuesday evening, looking forward to a trip up to Newcastle! Who better to bring along than my granny :)

Managed to get my hands on  sewing machine! Trying to make machine stitching look ‘freehand’!

Finally after moving cities and flats and studios things are getting back to normal.
Feeling a bit rusty after a longish break from the making-side of things. Making some sample pieces to get back in the swing!
Feeling great :)

Woon Foundation Install

Yesterday was the first day of hanging my work in the Woon Foundation Exhibition. Thought I’d throw these pictures up before heading back in today.

I’m using a white mac-monitor for the animation this time which feels very different. Excited to see how it all comes together today or if things need to be changed….

These images seem to succinctly sum up the apres-degree show, apres-degree vibe. Crockett, as always, prone to the slightly dramatic.

Time to try and be a real-adult…

Degree show part 2…

It’s been an extremely long time since my last post.

It only seems right to post some Degree-Show images…

It was a fantastic learning experience. The talking-to-people-about-your-work while standing right in front of it was definitely challenging. It was rewarding to get some nice feedback and have a few people really connect with it. At the same time it was a good lesson in letting more negative/disinterested comments deflect and continue to sit there for the 10 days.

For anyone who didn’t make it along…let me know what you think!

Crockett’s Fall from Anna Fennel Hughes on Vimeo.

And so, somehow, the last few days of the degree show are upon us.

To everyone who made it along to see Crockett, thanks.

To everyone who didn’t due to geographical distance, I’ve now uploaded the animation to vimeo…… https://vimeo.com/96105961

Enjoy!

Today is the day…degree show opening night
I feel in no way ready for this but here we go…
